Auden is often a major poet of the 20 th century. Essentially the most important regarding modern literature is humanism. Now, humanism is a device which puts interest and the mind of man paramount. A literary humanist is thus a student of human nature. In Auden’s poetry the real subject is man involved in human traffic. Auden believes that to adore other people selflessly can be a right social action. It has to creat a love full social interaction tending to co-operation.
